SINUS SURGERY

SINUS SURGERY

Sinus surgery is a procedure that has been seen rapid advances in recent years. Initially performed through “open” techniques, Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Sinus Surgery has become the standard of care for patients suffering from sinus disease who require surgery.

This method involves the use of small Cameras called Endoscopes and High Definition Video systems that allow the ENT Surgeon to visualize the sinus openings and nasal passages under magnification so that precise and targeted surgery can be performed with minimal pain and bleeding.

This procedure is commonly indicated for the following conditions:

  • Chronic sinusitis refractory to medical treatment

  • Recurrent sinusitis

  • Nasal polyposis

The procedure is commonly performed under general anaesthesia and the patient will require hospitalization for 1-2 days.
